I want to give my biggest respect to Philippines King of Pinoy Rap, a.k.a Master Rapper Francis Magalona who passed away last Friday at the age of 44. It was a grim Friday for me, never been in my life I feel this sad for the lost of a showbiz personality. From the time I learned he was diagnosed with Leukemia, I already feel the sadness inside of me for him, something behind it I believe that he will survive and continue his vision for Filipino people
I remembered Francis M. as a person who makes my generation to stand up as a Filipino and to be proud of their color and be known in the world.
I started to listen to his talent when he was just starting to rap, freestyle at Alma Moreno show “Loveli-Ness†Top 10 (not sure about the show title) and if I’m not mistaking it was Willie Revillame on the drums. Every show I always try to watch his segment and of course Alma’s tanga dance. Part of my puberty stage.
Francis M pioneered Pinoy Rap and was the first Pinoy rap artist who crosses the border between rap and rock. He is a lyrical poet defining his pride as a Filipino. His an inspiration to all Filipino youth of today generation. A true visionary of the Philippine music industry.
