It was Friday today and I take a day off to prepare all our stuff we needed to stay on the weekend at Seattle, Washington. We are planning to drive south this afternoon to avoid the long line up in the border hoping on that time the line up won’t take us two hours to cross the borders, it was school time again this coming week so for sure most of the Canadians is driving south to go shopping for school stuffs and everything, I guess. I know it was crazy to line up for two hours but I guess it was more crazy the way Canadian businessman put their price tags in their items which is almost double the price down south although US dollars and Canadian dollars is almost even or we are a bit higher to them sometimes.
Well, anyway we are going to drive their because I want to check the PAX- the Penny Arcade Expo is Seattle Downtown, it was my first time to attend to this kind of expo and I’m so excited about it. Good thing this is only in Seattle a 2-3 hours drive from Vancouver, Canada; though I’m hoping for CES and Comic-Con next time. I’m not gonna talk too much about what’s in PAX or how cool it was, you can check their website about the schedule and what’s in the exhibit booth to check. Damn men a lot of cool a-list booths in the exhibit hall and if you a real hardcore Arcade gamers a lot of known personality in the game scene will speak in the forum and hopefully some announcement. It’s my first time in PAX so no known much about it, all I can say is base on people who been their who share their experience and fun having their.
And since this is like a three in one trip, I mean a geek trip, a shopping and a family time. Of course, for my wife this is chance for shopping, form ny son he still don’t know much so it’s family time for him and for me I can say geek time and shopping time too, a chance to sony outlet store and bestbuy so just fair enough for everyone :). So I still need to pack some stuff and get ready. See you on Monday (maybe) and tell you more about my experience in PAX and also about my shopping experience. I like to check out some cool Toys Store down there so maybe I can get a good deal. If you wonder why I can post only after the events, simple I don’t have a laptop, my wife don’t want me to have laptop in our family vacation. So..I know, but that’s fine. Sony steal the show at Leipzig after officially announced the coming of much rumoured PSP-3000 the third generation of the PSP handheld console, an upgraded version of the previous PSP-2000 handheld console version, with slight changes on the button and chassis, but now have its own built-in microphone for Skype chat as well as Nintendo DS-style voice game controls, and has an enhanced LCD screen that will “increase intensity and the number of colors that can be displayed – “make it easier to view in natural light.” the new 3000 model has twice the color gamut, five times the contrast ratio and the most cool about it, a response time that’s twice as fast. The PSP-3000 is arriving on Europe as rumors on October 15, with retail price of around £150 and in North American shores in mid-October, most likely same as in Europe with the price tag of $199.
Here is the buzz that taking the hype now, the UK is getting Buzz!: Master Quiz, FIFA ‘09 and Harry Potter bundles. And on the North America shores, the new machine will be available as part of a 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack, which also includes a voucher to download a PSP version of best title; Everyday Shooter. Jonathan Mak’s abstract, music-based blaster is already on PSN and PC, and will work well on PSP where Space Invaders Extreme and Gradius Collection have worked well.

Xbox gamers can now book two-hour session at Cineplex theaters during times where the theaters are not in use for movies and play their games on the big screen. Each two hour session will run $179 and up to 12 people will be allowed in each session.
Players are allowed to bring their own games with them, or play from the library of games supplied by Cineplex. Cineplex’s VP of communications said “ It takes it to a whole new level when you see the game on a screen that’s more than 50 feet wide. Theaters will typically have somewhere between 12 and 24 hours of time available each week, typically in the morning hours. Some theaters may stay open later in the evening as well to accommodate groups.
The move to offer video games is the result of years of testing by Cineplex. The theatre chain has been holding one-off gaming sessions and special events in partnership with Microsoft for more than three years, Marshall said. The move also couldn’t have happened without new digital projectors that are capable of displaying games in high resolution.
“If they wanted to book a four-hour window, we could certainly go later in the evening,” Marshall said. “If the theatre manager has the staffing, they could go till two in the morning.”
