Top Ten Google Adsense Optimization

As part of my experiment I discussed in my last post. Due to dramatic decrease of my Adsense income, I even get into chance of trying some advertising networks like Adbrite and Bidvertiser but the things is other networks payment is not that big as Google adsense though it was big enough to compensate to your loses. So since my experiment was not that long enough to get conclusion I still try to learn more about Google Adsense Optimization, a lot of books available about this and of course a lot of this was available in the net, that is why I come out of my own Top Ten Google Adsense Optimization, the credit was to all site who posted their expertise in optimizing Adsense for free. BTW I need Four more to complete my top ten list.

Adsense is one of the most common revenue generators for blogs and websites. Usually you can drastically improve your click-through rate and overall earnings by positioning the ads wisely, by improving the content targeting or by optimizing the ad units directly.

6. Use Google Adsense site search.
Offer your sites readers the possibility to search directly on Google from your site. Besides providing a search field, you will also have the added benefit that the search result page displays Adsense ads. Any clicks on these Ads, will be counted as clicks created from your website, and can thereby potentially increase your Adsense income.

5. Use Google Adsense Adlinks on your site.
This new type of Google Adsense Ads, have a different layout and function that the usual Adsense ads. When you add Adsense Adlinks to your WebPages (you can add both Adsense ads, Adsense search and Adsense Adlinks to the same page), your visitors will be presented with 4-5 links. Each link represent what google determines to be the most relevant keyword for your site, and when clicked on, your visitor is taken to a page displaying relevant Adsense ads to the link clicked on. Once again, any clicks registered on this page counts towards your Adsense income.

4. Select a Colour scheme that fits the design of your pages.
The most successful link color is blue. This fact is connected with the roots of the Internet where all major websites used to feature blue links. Apart from blue links you can also use a link color that matches the pattern of your website (i.e. If you use green links make the Adsense links of the same color).

3. Increase website traffic.
Up to now, we have been discussing means of improving your CTR and click prices. Another factor, that is easy overlooked is your websites traffic.

2. Select the Google Adsense Ad type that fits your design best – and gives the best CTR.
Through several months of research, both by us and other Adsense users, it has been concluded that the 2 best general performing ad types are:

  • Skyscraper 160×600 with text ads.
  • Placement: Left or Right side
  • Big Rectangle 336 x280 with text ads.
  • Placement: Top or Middle

1 . Do SEO (search engine optimization) on your website.
Google doesn’t reveal how it’s Googlebot determines what type of ad’s to show on your website.

But if you follow these guidelines, it is our experience that Google does serve highly relevant Adsense ads, and additionally your websites will get well indexed by search engine robots.

  • Use a METATITLE, that defines what each page is about.
  • Use METATAGS, to define the keywords that match your page content.
  • If possible, register a domain name that has your top keyword in it.
  • On the first line of the page, give a descriptive title of your page in <h1> tags.
  • Try to avoid using top navigation, use left navigation instead.
  • Always create a robots.txt file.
  • Remember to create a sitemap file.
  • Do a search on Google for “SEO” and gather more information.

I’m more than a Gamer than an SEO, so I also need advice but you can think about everything above. What do you think?

Adbrite versus Adsense

125x125 1 white Adbrite versus Adsense
A lot of changes are happening right now in Google Adsense and I notice most of time my Ad spot for Google Adsense was always empty, of course I follow their rules of 3 Ad spot per page but it was still empty. Also, in the last three months my income is going down each month. So I decided to find a new Adevrtising Network to fill my vacant Ad spot and I decided to give Adbrite a try and as I expected it was totally save me from my loses in Adsense though it was not that big since I don’t maximise my adbrite yet.
I’m still in a kind of monitoring my income right now if I continue my loses in Adsense maybe I will try to replace some of my Adsense spot with Adbrite and I will see what will going to happen then. To be honest after almost a week of downtime during my server failed and force me to upgrade my hosting plan that is when my revenue started to slide down and never recover until now.
After receiving my Adbrite check today it makes me feel better now and hoping another check this coming month of October. they say it was usually takes 10 days to receive your check but in my case it only take 3 days to find my check in the mailbox.
