“Sony’s PS3 console is going to Hollywood”
Sony PS3 unveiled a new video service for its Playstation 3 console at E3 video game industry trade show in Los Angeles, says it will rent out and sell movie and television programs online for the PS3.
The service will take a few months to reach Canada due to last minute details to be ironed out with the Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission, said by Playstation Canada.
Rentals for shows and movie are $3 to $6 for Hi-Def, and $15 to own and will be compatible with the PSP handheld console.

    That is pretty awesome. I don’t have to drag myself to go to blockbuster to get a movie when I can get it on my ps3 for the same price. It’s nice that they are also in high-def. Does high-def mean 1080p or just 1080i like cable and satellite tv?

    @ps3 for free:

    A total high def is 1080p, 1080i is only equal to 720p

    Wicked! Will this be available for the UK?
    Saves taking a trip to Blockbuster to get the movie then a trip back to return!

    Yet another reason to get a PS3. And easier to watch things on the TV rather than on a PC monitor using other services.
    Top notch work there Sony.
