Yesterday I see a lot of trend asking if their will be a midnight launching of Metal Gear Solid 4 in Canada, but unfortunately as everybody knows now that it never happen. Yes and yes again, there is no midnight launching of Metal Gear Solid 4 in Canada as far as I know.
Actually at 6:00pm last night I receive a call from EBGames sales rep, telling me that my pre-order games will be ready to pick today (June 12) at 10:00am when the store is open and confirmed me that there is no special midnight event gonna happen in all part of Vancouver. The reason is MGS4 is really not that HOT in Canada, the sales rep told me that they don’t receive enough order to have a midnight launch, like for paying extra security, overtime pay and other expenses for a special event.
I know it was really pissed off but what the hell, I feel that Konami is making no effort to promote the game here in Canada. You don’t even see a big poster of MGS4 launching date in some EBGames or other store selling Video Games. There is even no schedule of MGS4 World Tour in any city of Canada. No wonder they are not a big hit here in Canada, but me as a big fan of Metal Gear this is really a big disappointment for me.
BTW in the USA the midnight launching event happen and more successful they say compare to Japan in terms of line up. But the exclusive LE MGS4 PS3 bundle in Konami.com was still available to order, unlike in Japan that in just 6 days when they announced it they are already sold out.
So for those who already have their copy of the games and LE MGS4 PS3 let me know what you think about the full games, for me I’m going to pick up my copy after work so probably by 6:00pm I’m going to give it a run and let’s see the power of Solid Snake….Snake…snakeee…
