
Rogers Wireless has bowed to pressure created by the online petition been launched to protest the rate plans offered by Rogers Wireless and its Fido subsidiary for Apple’s iPhone when it goes on sale tomorrow by offering the subscribers of more affordable plans.
Consumers who activate their phone by Aug. 31 on a three – year contract will also be offered 6GB of data for $30 a month; it’s a promotion that was announced in response to petition and complaints about the cost of running the $199 iPhone.
According to Rogers their six stores across Canada will be opening at 8:00am on July 11 to promote the nationwide launch of the much anticipated over hyped touch screen multi-media phone.

Nearly 62,240 had signed the online petition posted on the website Ruined iPhone.com as of writing.
According to the website, a copy of the petition and all the posted messages will be sent to Rogers on July 11, the day the new iPhone goes on sale in Canada.
