Sony steal the show at Leipzig after officially announced the coming of much rumoured PSP-3000 the third generation of the PSP handheld console, an upgraded version of the previous PSP-2000 handheld console version, with slight changes on the button and chassis, but now have its own built-in microphone for Skype chat as well as Nintendo DS-style voice game controls, and has an enhanced LCD screen that will “increase intensity and the number of colors that can be displayed – “make it easier to view in natural light.” the new 3000 model has twice the color gamut, five times the contrast ratio and the most cool about it, a response time that’s twice as fast. The PSP-3000 is arriving on Europe as rumors on October 15, with retail price of around £150 and in North American shores in mid-October, most likely same as in Europe with the price tag of $199.
Here is the buzz that taking the hype now, the UK is getting Buzz!: Master Quiz, FIFA ’09 and Harry Potter bundles. And on the North America shores, the new machine will be available as part of a 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack, which also includes a voucher to download a PSP version of best title; Everyday Shooter. Jonathan Mak’s abstract, music-based blaster is already on PSN and PC, and will work well on PSP where Space Invaders Extreme and Gradius Collection have worked well.
PSP-3000 is also coming to North America as part of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack bundle. They’ve also now announced a PSP 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack which includes a 4GB memstick PRO Duo.
The Entertainment Packs with the updated PSP-3000 will be retailed for the same standard price of US$ 199.99. And later on this year, Sony will be releasing the PSP-3000 Core Pack, which will also keep its regular price of US$ 169.99. -qj.net
