With Sony announcement of the new PSP-3000 for Europe and the United States at the Leipzig Games Convention and later Sony also announced the PSP-3000 launch details for Japan.
In Japan Sony will offer the PSP-3000 in piano black, pearl white and mystic silver for 19,800 yen (~$183) starting October 16th. SCEJ will also release PSP Value Pack for the Japanese market at 24,800 yen (including tax), comprising a new PSP system (Piano Black, Pearl White or Mystic Silver), a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2), an original PSP pouch, a hand strap and a cloth to meet gamers various purposes in using the PSP systems such as playing games, watching movies, listening to music and downloading content through the Playstation Network.

Along with the launch of the new PSP system, SCEJ will also introduce a variety of accessory packs to meet a wide range of gamers’ lifestyle; “Accessory Pack” will be released at a 3,800 yen and “Battery Pack (2200mAh)” at 5,500 yen. In addition, new peripherals for the new PSP will be introduced; “Cradle” at 4,800 yen and “Cradle and D terminal AV cable” at 6,500 yen for charging PSP battery and enjoying high quality viewing on TVs, and also “PSP Pouch” at 1,800 yen that matches the color of the new PSP system. All additional peripherals and accessories will become available on Thursday, October 16th.
Later this fall special editions of the PSP-3000 are planned in Japan include a Mobile Suit Gundam and Final Fantasy PSP.

In North America. the new PSP will start shipping on October 14th. The Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack will feature the new PSP-3000. The PSP-3000 pack is available for pre-order on Amazon.com PSP-3000 launches in Japan Next Month. And also check at Amazon the (un-announced yet) PSP 3000 Limited Edition PSP-3000 launches in Japan Next Month coming on November, 2008.

    Wow this is great news I have now PSP Slim and Light but I think I`ll buy this model ASAP becase I thing that the games for it will be more attractive.

    Looks brilliant, i currently have the original PSP but the battery is dying. I will be replacing my current PSP with the new one when it come out in the Uk.

    Looks like a really nice addition to the PSP. I hate it when people say rediculous things like “This version should have a rocket launcher! WHY DOESN’T IT HAVE A ROCKET LAUNCHER!?”.
    It’s a games console for crying out, a new screen is an excellent addition.

    Not getting it…not enough upgrades if you asked me…they should have released a new version next year…i bet that will have some more upgrades…and I hope sony will stop upgrading every year…
